Why SASYA exists
SASYA started with a simple home problem: plants were everywhere, but their names, needs, and warning signs were not obvious. The app grew from that everyday curiosity into a faster way to recognise plants and understand how to care for them.
Plant identification should feel immediate and respectful: no photo uploads, no forced account, no ads getting between you and the answer. SASYA is built as a tool — private, offline, and clear when you are trying to learn what is in front of you.
The goal is to make the plants around you easier to know: in the garden, on the roadside, near the temple, or inside your home. SASYA brings names, families, regional language support, and field context into one calm place.

Questions, answered
Everything you might want to know before installing.
Does SASYA work without internet?
Yes. Identification runs entirely on your device, so it works fully offline — no signal or data connection needed.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. Your camera images are processed locally on your phone. They are never uploaded to a server, stored, or shared.
How many plants can it identify?
SASYA covers thousands of plant species across 242 botanical families. It works for plants anywhere, with the strongest coverage of the species you actually see around you across the Indian subcontinent.
Which languages are supported?
Plant names appear in up to 14 Indian languages — Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati and more — and the app interface is available in Hindi.
Does it detect plant diseases?
Not yet — disease detection is on our roadmap. Today SASYA focuses on accurate identification, plant care basics, and detailed botanical information.
Do I need to create an account?
No. There is no sign-up, no login, and no ads. Open the app and start scanning.
