Members of this family are generally characterised by alternate pinnate/trifoliate leaves, raceme/panicle/head flower clusters, pod/legume fruit. It is typically found in semi-evergreen, moist deciduous forests, also in sacred groves. It is native to Sri Lanka. Flowering and fruiting are typically seen during August-April. Its conservation status has been assessed as Least Concern (LC).
